Nathan Stevenson confirmed his injury concerns of early 2007 were well and truly behind him while Lisa Camilleri confirmed her number one seeding with the duo taking out the open divisions at the 2007 Brisbane Open.

In one of the most one-sided matches of the Brisbane Open, Nathan Stevenson blazed away from the first ball to defeat Matt Bartholomew in the men's open final conceding only four points in the process.

Training partners, Stevenson and Bartholomew put on a show for the spectators but Stevenson proved too clinical on key points and executed an array of shots with faultless execution.

Stevenson acknowledged after the match that the score was not an indication of the toughness of the match.

"Matt and I have trained a lot together. It is always really competitive", Stevenson said.

"He's a great player. I had no idea I had only conceded four points".

In the ladies open division, Lisa Camilleri accounted for local star Zoe Petravansky in three straight games.

Proving her class, Camilleri claimed the title in just over 30 minutes on court.

In other results, David Brooks proved too strong for Mark Shields in the men's A grade division while Keith Derham and Phillip Greenaway claimed the men's B and C grade titles respectively.

In the ladies divisions, the face of the 2007 Brisbane Open, Di Levack accounted for Angela Fisher in the A grade final while Leanne Carr defeated Allison Robinson in the final of the ladies B grade division.

The event was highlighted by some marathon matches including an epic between University of Queensland's Jason Lee and Armidale resident Martin Collins in the men's A division.

Deep into the match and in oppressive conditions, the heat proved too much for Lee forcing him from the court late in the forth game with physical sickness.

Lee returned a few minutes later and ultimately claimed the tie in five games illustrating the commitment shown by the players attending the Brisbane Open.

The event was a great success flawlessly organised by Squash Brisbane President Jan McDonald with the assistance of Michael O'Connor and Sonja Mielke.

The facilities at Sandgate Squash came in for high praise with both ladies and men's winners acknowledging the great job Sandgate Squash Centre's owner Bob Cartwright had done in preparation for the event.

The catering was superb and cold drinks flowed freely all weekend.

The 2007 Brisbane Open proved a great hit with entrants coming from as far as Coffs Harbour and Armidale in northern NSW.
